Accessibility
The World Wide Web Consortium promotes a high degree of web accessibility for people with disabilities
through the Web Accessibility Initiative.
This website has been validated by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB)
to ensure it achieves their 'See it Right' compliance
in order to demonstrate a high standard of web accessibility in line with the Web Accessibility Initiative.
The validation process has used a number of automated web verification tools and pages
have been examined in detail using a selection of graphic and text browsers and access software.
These include:
- graphic browsers including Internet Explorer, Opera and Firefox
- text browsers including Lynx and Links
- screen readers (speech output) including JAWS and IBM Home Page Reader.
Shropshire Council, through their software supplier Axiell UK,
will continue to ensure that this product conforms to web accessibility standards for current releases
of main internet browsers.
